Lone Goat has joined the fundraising effort to help West Melton schoolgirl, Maddie Collins, go to the United States for a life-saving kidney transplant. Maddie has Nephrotic Syndrome, the same kidney disease Jonah Lomu suffered from, and at only 12 years old is on dialysis 10 hours every day.
The saying goes “it takes a village to raise a child” and this is one of those times. We invite you to be part of Maddie’s village by purchasing our Waipara grown Canterbury Sauvignon Blanc 2014 and support a worthy cause with all profits made going to Maddie’s Fund.
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, reviewed Maddie’s wine in September 2016 and described it as “a beautifully maturing Sauvignon”. Maddie’s Canterbury Sauvignon Blanc 2014 received 4 stars representing a wine of “very good quality displaying attractive flavours and good balance”. Sam is a respected NZ wine writer and judge based in Auckland.
Tasting note: A beautifully maturing Sauvignon, the attractive bouquet shows nectarine, ripe apple, lemongrass and snow pea characters, leading to a juicy palate that is vibrant and nicely fruited. The wine offers generous fruit intensity and fine texture, finishing long and mouth-watering. A lovely partner to light seafood, salads and soft cheeses. At its best: now to 2017. Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
